China Humanoid Athletics Circuit 2025

Beginning in 2025, China launched a series of high-profile public exhibitions showcasing humanoid robots in athletic disciplines, organised by a combination of state broadcasters, municipal governments, and robotics manufacturers. Events included head-to-head humanoid boxing matches, choreographed dance performances, timed sprint races, and a half-marathon held in Beijing. These events were explicitly designed to generate national public enthusiasm for humanoid robots and demonstrate China's technological capability, broadcast nationally on CCTV. Unitree Robotics H1 and G1 models and Agibot A2 were the most prominent competitors. These events are distinct from the formalised World Humanoid Robot Games also launched in 2025, and represent a parallel informal circuit of manufacturer-led demonstrations establishing humanoid robot performance as a broadcast sport format.
