JAXA Robots
JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) is Japan's national space agency, established in 2003 through the merger of ISAS, NAL, and NASDA. JAXA develops rockets, satellites, and space exploration robotics including the SLIM precision lunar lander and participation in the International Space Station. Japan's SLIM mission in January 2024 achieved the world's most precise moon landing, touching down within 55 metres of its target — demonstrating pinpoint landing technology essential for future lunar resource utilisation. JAXA collaborates with NASA on lunar exploration under the Artemis Accords and is developing the LUNAR-A and MMX (Martian Moons eXploration) missions.
