Think Surgical is a US orthopaedic surgical robotics company founded in 1998, developing the TSolution One system — an autonomous bone-preparation robot for total knee and hip replacement surgery. Unlike haptic-guided systems (Stryker Mako, Smith+Nephew CORI) where the surgeon actively manipulates the arm within constraints, TSolution One performs the bone cutting autonomously based on pre-operative planning, with the surgeon preparing the plan and confirming execution. Think Surgical's autonomous execution approach is technically distinct from the dominant haptic-guidance category in orthopaedic robotic surgery.
